Asked Carpathia if he had list of third-class and crew survivors ready. He says: "No: will send them soon."
8:35 P.M.: Sent one private message to Californian asking if they had any survivors on board from the Titanic.
8:45 P.M.: Private message from the Californian saying no Titanic survivors on board. Standing by for the Carpathia and calling him frequently. Hear nothing from him. I informed the commander that I was unable to hear anything more of Carpathia and asked, "Should I start sending list of names to Cape Race?" He instructed me to send them.
10 P.M.: Calling Cape Race with list of survivors, but can not hear him.
10:30 P.M.: Sable Island answers me and offers traffic. Told him I have list of survivors here and ask him to take them. Sable Island gives "O. K.," and I commence sending them to him.

TUESDAY, APRIL 16, 1912.

12:30 A.M.: Cape Race breaks in. His signals good; says he can read me OK and that he has already been receiving names I have been sending to Sable Island; so as Cape Race is strong and Sable Island very difficult to read on account of atmospherics, I send the remaining names to Cape Race.
2:50 A.M.: Completed sending list of survivors' names through to Cape Race, and then start sending Carpathia's service messages, after which received the following from him:

NEW YORK.
Capt. HADDOCK, Olympic:
It is vitally important that we have names of every survivor on Carpathia immediately. If you can expedite this by standing by the Carpathia please do so.

Il a demandé au Carpathia s’il avait la liste disponible des survivants de troisième classe et de l’équipage. Il dit : "Non : va les envoyer bientôt."
8 h 35 : Envoyé un message privé au Californian demandant s’ils avaient des survivants à bord provenant du Titanic.
20 h 45 : Message privé du Californian disant qu’il n’y a pas de survivants du Titanic à bord. Se tenir prêt avec le Carpathia et l’appeler fréquemment. Aucune nouvelle de lui. J’ai informé le commandant que je ne pouvais plus entendre plus du Catpathia et j’ai demandé : « Devrais-je commencer à envoyer une liste de noms à Cape Race ? » Il m’a ordonné de les envoyer.
22 h : On appelle Cape Race avec la liste des survivants, mais on ne l’entend pas.
22 h 30 : Sable Island me répond et me donne une bande de transmission. Je lui ai dit que j’avais une liste de survivants ici et je lui ai demandé de l’envoyée. Sable Island répond "O. K.", et je commence à les lui envoyer.

MARDI 16 AVRIL 1912.

12 h 30 : Cap Race interrompt. Ses signaux sont bons; il dit qu’il peut me recevoir OK et qu’il a déjà reçu des noms que j’ai envoyés à Sable Island; donc, comme Cape Race à un signal fort et que Sable Island est très difficile à contacter en raison de l’atmosphère, j’envoie les noms restants à Cape Race.
2 h 50 : Il a terminé l’envoi de la liste des noms des survivants à Cape Race, puis il a commencé à envoyer les messages de service du Carpathia, après quoi il a reçu ce qui suit :

NEW YORK.
Capt HADDOCK, Olympic :
Il est d’une importance vitale que nous ayons immédiatement les noms de tous les survivants à bord du Carpathia. Si vous pouvez accélérer les choses en vous tenant près du Carpathia, Faites-le.
